What information do we collect?

General Browsing: EXPRESSFASHION.COM gathers navigational information about where visitors go on our Web site and information about the technical efficiencies of our Web site and services (i.e. time to connect to our Web site, time to download pages, etc.). This information allows us to see which areas of EXPRESSFASHION.COM are most visited and helps us better understand our customers' experiences at EXPRESSFASHION.COM. This helps us improve the quality of your online experiences by recognizing and delivering more of the preferred features, areas and services. Use of Cookies and Other Technology:
EXPRESSFASHION.COM uses a browser feature known as a cookie, which assigns a unique identification to your computer. Cookies are typically stored on your computer's hard drive and are used by EXPRESSFASHION.COM to help track clicks and pass information as you go through the pages within the EXPRESSFASHION.COM Web site. EXPRESSFASHION.COM uses cookies to tell us whether you have, or someone using your computer has previously, visited EXPRESSFASHION.COM. If you have previously registered for iNSIDE, or if you purchase a gift card online, register for e-mail or register for one of the online sweepstakes that we may offer at this Web site, cookies could allow us to associate your registration and/or purchase information with Web site navigational information from previous browsing visits. If you indicate in our online surveys in which you elect to participate that you would like to be considered for future Express marketing research, we may use cookies to associate your e-mail registration information with your survey.

Collection of Personal Information:
If you purchase a gift card on our Web site, we will ask you to provide your name, billing address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card information, any message that you would like to include with your gift card, as well as the recipient's name and the telephone number and address to which you would like the gift card shipped. Upon completion of ordering a gift card, you will be given an order number. If you decide to track your gift card order through our Order Status feature, we will ask you to provide your order number, zip code and either your e-mail address or the last six digits of the credit card used to place the order.

If you create an account or sign up for a sweepstakes we sponsor, we will ask for your name, address, e-mail address and, if you choose to provide it, your phone number. With an account, you will also be able to save or e-mail to a friend any wish list that you create of your favorite items.

We collect personal information at this Web site when you sign up for e-mail, which includes your name, address and e-mail address. We may also collect additional personal information from you if you elect to participate in certain features and activities that we may offer at this Web site. For example, we may from time to time post optional fashion quizzes, polls, or surveys that may ask for additional information from you (i.e. additional demographic information, fashion preferences, etc.).

World Financial Network National Bank (WFNNB) issues and owns the Express credit card accounts. If you apply online for an Express credit card, or, once opened, pay your account online, you will be providing your personal information directly to WFNNB and the information you provide to WFNNB would be subject to WFNNB’s privacy policies.

We may occasionally participate in sweepstakes with other companies with a link to a Web site hosted by the other company. If you elect to participate in the sweepstakes by going to the linked Web site, you may be providing personal information, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and gender to the company that is hosting the sweepstakes Web site. However, some, if not all, of the personal information that you provide on the sweepstakes Web site may be provided to us by the company hosting the sweepstakes.

To ensure compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, EXPRESSFASHION.COM does not knowingly maintain information provided by children under the age of 13.

How do we use the information that we collect?
When you sign up for e-mail, sign up for a sweepstakes that we sponsor or create an account, you will be added to the EXPRESSFASHION.com e-mail marketing list and we will send you exclusive information about special offers, media events, new products and much more.

EXPRESSFASHION.COM does not sell, rent or trade your e-mail address to unaffiliated third parties, but does use third parties to administer and manage our e-mails, however, we have and will continue to share your e-mail address with Bath & Body Works, The Limited, Victoria's Secret, and other companies affiliated with Bath and Body Works and Victoria’s Secret. Third parties who manage and administer our e-mails are required to maintain your e-mail address in confidence. If you'd like to be removed from the Express e-mail list, you can follow the removal instructions located at the bottom of the next e-mail you receive from Express. Please be aware, even if you elect not to receive e-mail, or subsequently ask to be removed from the EXPRESSFASHION.COM e-mail marketing list, you may still receive e-mail confirmations for gift card purchases made on our Web site, and you may receive e-mails sent by a friend using E-mail a Friend.

If you e-mail a wish list to a friend, we will not collect, retain or review the names or e-mail addresses of the recipient of your wish list.

When you sign up for e-mail, sign up for a sweepstakes that we sponsor or create an account, your name and mailing address will be added to the Express direct mailing list and database.

While we no longer offer an iNSIDE membership and, therefore no longer collect information to become an iNSIDE member, if you previously registered as an iNSIDE member, your name, mailing address and phone number were added to the Express direct mailing list and database.

Express uses its direct mailing list to send you Express mailings regarding exclusive information about special offers, new products and much more. In addition, please be aware that Express makes names and addresses in this direct mailing list available to other companies. If you no longer wish to receive our direct mailings or have your name and address shared with other companies (other than third parties who provide services to EXPRESSFASHION.COM) please call us at 1-800-749-0564.

Occasionally, we may post special fashion surveys, quizzes or polls on our Web site. We will aggregate the answers provided by all visitors who participate in each quiz, poll and survey and use this aggregate information to help us better understand our customers. We may also use the information you provide in your responses to enhance and personalize our product offerings and mailings to you. If you indicate when taking a quiz, poll or survey that you would like to be considered for participation in future Express marketing research, we will associate your answers with your e-mail registration information and use this combined information to contact you for future Express marketing research.

Purchasing Online:
The information you provide when you make a purchase on our Web site is used to process your request and send the requested product. If it is a gift card, we will include your name and billing address in the packing slip that accompanies any gift card(s) that you ask us to ship to others. We may also use the information you provide when you make a purchase on our Web site to contact you or the recipient(s) in the event of order or delivery difficulties. In addition, we will add your e-mail address to the EXPRESSFASHION.COM e-mail marketing list (but if you ordered a gift card prior to July 22, 2004, we did not add your e-mail address to our e-mail marketing list). The information you provide when using the Order Status feature on our Web site is used to assist you in tracking your order(s).

If you make a purchase on our Web site after May 11, 2004, the information you provide (for example, name, address, credit card) will be added to a database maintained by a third party service provider. The information in this database is shared with Bath and Body Works and Victoria’s Secret and may also be used to provide names and addresses to other companies. If you would prefer that we not share your name and mailing address with other companies (other than third parties who provide services to EXPRESSFASHION.COM) please call us at 1-800-749-0564.

E-mail a Friend:
E-mail a Friend is a feature on our Web site that allows friends to e-mail outfits and items to each other. While you will provide both your e-mail address and the e-mail address of your selected recipient, EXPRESSFASHION.COM does not retain or review any personal information, including the e-mail addresses of the sender and recipient, which is provided in E-mail a Friend or the message content. When you send an E-mail a Friend from EXPRESSFASHION.COM, we will send your selected recipient your e-mail address, message, and your selected outfit or item(s). We may include an opportunity for the recipient to sign up to receive promotional materials such as Express E-mail from EXPRESSFASHION.COM.

General:
If we receive your personal information because you have entered a sweepstakes linked to our Web site, we will use the information to contact you regarding exclusive information about special offers, new products and other information about EXPRESSFASHION.COM.

You should be aware that we may disclose specific information about you if necessary to do so by law or based on our good faith belief that it is necessary to conform or comply with the law or it is necessary to protect the users of our Web site, the site or the public.

We may use third parties to help us provide services to you, such as monitoring site activity, conducting surveys, processing gift card orders, maintaining our database and administering e-mails, drawings or sweepstakes or contests that we sponsor. If personally identifiable information (i.e. name, address, e-mail address, telephone number) is provided to any of these third parties, we will require that such information be maintained by them in confidence, unless otherwise specified in this privacy policy or otherwise required by Official Rules for sweepstakes.

In the event Express sells or transfers a particular portion of its business assets, consumer information may be one of the business assets transferred as part of the transaction. If substantially all of the assets of Express are acquired, consumer information may be transferred as part of the acquisition.

International Visitors:
If you are visiting EXPRESSFASHION.COM from a location outside of the U.S., your connection will be through and to servers located in the U.S. All information you receive from EXPRESSFASHION.COM will be created on servers located in the U.S. and all information you provide will be maintained in our Web server and internal systems located within the U.S.

Updating Personal Information
If you need to update your name, mailing address or e-mail address, just click on "sign-up for e-mail" and use your new name, mailing address or e-mail address when registering or you may go back into an account that you have created by using your password and revise the information in the account.

Please be aware that it could take up to 30 days before you receive e-mail or mail at your new address.

Security Statement:
We designed EXPRESSFASHION.COM to accept gift card orders only from Web browsers that permit communication through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology; for example, 4.0 versions or higher of Netscape Navigator and versions 5.01 or higher of Internet Explorer, versions 0.8 or higher of Firefox and versions 1.2 or higher for Safari. SSL is encryption technology that provides security while information is being transmitted over the Internet.

While we implement the above security measures on this Web site, you should be aware that 100% security is not always possible on the internet.
